UTTAN KRISHI SANSHODHAN SANSTHA

The limits of increase in agricultural production using modern heavy machinery, indiscriminate use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides have been exposed over the year. Utttan krishi sanshodhan Sanstha is doing research using the traditional methods of agriculture, new models of irrigation, organic fertilizers, vermiculture, natural pesticides etc. to improve sustainable productivity, The trust proposes to encourage traditional and proven methods and improve them wherever possible.

Many of these methods were being used successfully for generations earlier, but were abandoned without proper testing of the alternative approaches. The most tragic example is water management/mismanagement in Bharat. The other being the increasing problem of salinity, waterlogging, fertile lands becoming barren over a long period of time. The examples can be multiplied.

The trust does research keeping all the above facts and history in mind and is working on many projects.
