The Uttan Krushi Sanshodhan Sanstha (UKSS) is a Registered Charitable Trust, established in 1984 and registered in 1985 working in Research, Education, Awareness, Co-operation, Training and Self-reliance (i.e. REACTS), in the field of Agriculture, Irrigation, Organic manures, Apiculture (Honeybee Keeping), production and processing of vegetables and fruits, by applying traditional/proven as well as modern techniques and methods to improve sustainable qualitative productivity, which ultimately would be beneficial to farmers, students and to entire society. The UKSS is a centre of vocational education engaged in Education and Field Training in Agriculture and allied industries such as, Cultivation of crops, vegetables, fruits and other agro-products, Production and Processing of Vegetable and Fruit, Nursery Management, Manufacturing of Organic Manure, Organic farming, Apiculture (Honey-bee keeping), Irrigation Methods and Systems, Soil & Water Conservation, Watershed Management etc.

The UKSS also works for environment protection and rejuvenation. To fulfill the aims and objectives and to nourish the children of farmers as ‘Progressive Farmer’ by providing them scientific knowledge in agriculture and allied industries, The Keshasrushti Krushi Tantra Vidhyalaya, having capacity of 120 resident students, started in the year 2005 under affiliation with Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krushi Vidhyapeeth, Dapoli, Ratnagiri, with Two years Post S.S.C.Diploma Course.  The children of farmer families, belonging to scheduled   cast / tribes, other backward class and economical backward class, residing at Wada, Mokhada, Javhar, Vikramgadh, Dahanu, Palghar, Vasai, Shahapur, Murbad, Kalyan, Bhivandi and from Dhule, Jalgaon and Nandurbar District are taking agricultural education from the Vidhyalay.  The success result of the Vidhyalay for the Academic Year 2007-08 was 100%.  There is a provision of separate Hostel for Boys and Girls in the campus only. Numbers of girl-students are more than 50%, than the total quantum of students. It is good sign that girls from farmers’ families are taking initiative in agricultural education, which will certainly help to reform the next-generation of farmers.    

Within three years of successful execution of agricultural school, the Trust started employment-oriented courses under affiliation with The Yashavantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU), Nasik from the year 2008, under which a student studied upto 10th standard can take the advantage of this distance education scheme and become a diploma or degree holder in agriculture and can widen the income opportunities. At present, more than 200 students are taking education in different courses of YCMOU.
